"Green Frog" seems like such a dumb name for a frog. "Northern Green Frog" is slightly better, I guess.

In the picture below, notice the fold extending from behind the ear to just beyond halfway down the back. If this were a bullfrog, the fold would turn at the ear.

Green frogs do very well in the pond from tadpoles I buy. They bred in the first year evidently and dozens overwintered in 2022-2023. In 2023 we had green frogs everywhere! They mostly dispersed, but we had three "steadies" - "Dog", "Booger" and the smaller "Buzzsaw". They lived through 2024 and then were gone. 2025 was a down year for Green Frogs. In the spring of 2026 I bought ten more tadpoles and by the end of the summer had a bunch of Green Frogs again.
